Family Additions

Like I said yesterday, a lot has happened over the last few months.  One very exciting piece of news I have to share is that I became an aunt twice since my unscheduled leave of absence!  Yup, Mrs. BFF and sister in law, Morgan, both had babies a month apart.  And the sad, sad news is that I don't have pictures of either.  Can you believe it?  I certainly can't.  I promise to get pictures soon, and brag all about it.

Second runner up in the even time line was adding a new cousin to our family.  My cousin, Alicia got married on the hottest damn day in May.

Actually, she got married back in December, but waited to have the reception until the hottest damn day in May.

Alicia has been in love with my parents' house since she was knee high to a grasshopper.  She's done school projects on the house, crafts for the house, and written paper's on the house.  So she wanted nothing more than to celebrate her marriage there.  Since the reception was to be held in the 3d floor ballroom, December would have been bone chilling cold.  So she married her love in December, and held the reception in May when (she thought) temps would be more comfortable.  Little did we know, the temp that day would break a record high, soaring to 90!  Lord, was it hot in that ballroom!

I had the honors of photographing the reception for the couple.  And boy, oh boy was she stunning.  Take a look...but try not to spread the word...I just finished editing the photos yesterday, and the blushing bride hasn't even had a chance to see them yet.

My parent's house.  3rd floor ballroom.  All done up wedding style!  Boo-ya!

So pretty

Her mom and two aunt's (my three cousins) did all the decorations.  Didn't they do a wonderful job.  The photo's don't do it Justice.  Though the photos are beautiful, in real life it was stunning.

Now on to the blushing bride.  Alicia is a beautiful person on a normal day, but on this hot day in May she was glowing, and not from sweat!  Take a look.  You can see the happiness written on her face.

Isn't she radiant??

I had such a great time, and so did the Goosepoop kids.  They've never seen the ballroom fancied up like this before.  Usually it's a cool place to run around and fly airplanes.  But add some food and a dj, and you have the coolest party ever to a little kid!

As you can see demonstrated below

God bless you Alicia and Robbie.  May your marriage be filled with love, joy, and laughter.

Why hello there! It's been awhile!

Seriously??  January 10th?  I mean, I knew it'd been awhile since my last post, but really?  Five months?  Not good Houston, not good.

Too much has happened in the last five months to even begin to blog about.  So I won't even try.  I'm just going to try to pick up like I never left.

Kids are out for summer break as of last Thursday.  I now own a 3 day pre-schooler, a second grader, 2 third graders, a fifth grader, and a sixth grader.  Hard liquor Lord, help this momma!

I'm hoping I'll have more time to keep up on the blog now.

So I'll catch ya'll (or is it y'all?) on the flip side!

Friday Flip Off

OK...So I had a whole Friday Flip Off post already written and ready to run.  All I had to do it in the morning was push the little "POST" button with one eye open and a cup of joe in hand.

But all the Flipp Off's I had seems so insignificant now, so I'm calling bullshit and starting over....

Let me preface this post...now I'm not a huge drinker by any means.  I'm more of a "when-I-drink-I-drink-to-get-drunk" kind of girl as opposed to "have-a-glass-of-wine-every-night" girl.  When the timing is right, I can hang with the best of them.  But the timing is usually only right about twice a month or so.  I'd love to sit and have a glass of wine every night after the kids go to bed, but truth be told...I hate wine.  I want to like it, I try to like it, but I can't.  I just can't like wine.

Anyway...This is my view at this exact moment in time...

And to be honest, this is the way my night has started on Tuesday and on Wednesday too.  No, it's not wine, it's better than wine.  It's a mudslide.  Mmm mmm mmm...

It's just been one of those weeks.  You know the ones...where everything goes wrong, and everything is hectic.

So this Friday Flip Off is a one banger...

I say Flip Off to my whole flippin' week!!

But I'd have to say last night needed the most flipping off.  We dropped the kids off to their piece of crap other parent's house and head out for dinner.  On the way I want to stop at a furniture store to look for some new dressers for the boys' room.  Mr. Goose Poop is driving, and I can't exactly remember where on this road it is, so I google it.  It's about 3 miles down and they are open for another 2 hours.  We get there...no they aren't open for another 2 hours, in fact they are already closed.  Something about closed yesterday for some sales meeting or something.

Anyway, so we head out for dinner (where we made pigs of ourselves had fried pickles with our dinner), and head over to pick Jake and Carter up from their mom's house.  After getting them, we go get gas.  Now here's where it goes downhill.

Mr. Goose Poop goes to pull out of the gas station, but doesn't make a COMPLETE stop before pulling out.  Does more of the rolling stop, but was still more than safe.  I, jokingly say, "That was a stop sign, sir" he says something along the lines of "yea, yea" and we laugh it off.  It wasn't as if he blew threw a stop sign, pulling out into traffic at an alarming rate.  He was going slow, it was a road where you could see way down the road before making it to the stop sign, so he pulled out before coming to a COMPLETE stop.

Ok, so we're driving, we're minding our own business, when all the sudden, about 2 miles from where we pulled out of the gas station, Mr. Goose Poop starts to swerve.  I yell something along the lines of "What the hell are you doing? You're driving like an idiot!"  He said said the cop that was next to us was swerving into our lane really bad, so he had to swerve too or he would have side swiped us.  We look over, and the cop is giving us the stink eye.  We're like what-ev and Mr. Goose Poop continues to drive.

Well the cop kept swerving into our lane, which is making Mr. Goose Poop also have to swerve.  We get to a red light, we are in the right lane, and the cop is in the left lane, one car ahead of us and the light turns green.  We go...as does the cop.

The cars in front of us think it's Sunday, and are going slow.  So Mr. Goose Poop puts on his blinker to get into the other lane, which now puts up right behind the cop.  As soon as we do that, the cop starts going slower, and slower and s-l-o-w-e-r.  Now he's going 35 mph in a 55 zone.  Mr. Goose Poop is like what the hell is this guy doing?!?  I wouldn't say we were tailgating the cop, but we were a little closer than usual.  But come one, you're going 35 in a 55 IN THE FAST LANE at that!

Next thing you know, the cop slams on his brakes, causing us to have to slam on our brakes, causing the guy behind us to slam on the brakes.  And I mean, this cop really hit the brakes hard.  Mr. Goose Poop gets mad, and gives a little *honk**honk* of the horn.  I'm over there punching him in the arm asking him what the hell he is doing.  He says it's not illegal to honk your horn at someone, especially when they are going 20 under the speed limit and slamming on their brakes.  I'm going, damn just knock it off, and lets get one with our night, would ya.

Well, of course, as soon as Mr. Goose Poop honks, the cop nearly came to a complete stop in the middle of the road, gets into the right lane, as soon as we pass him he gets behind us with the lights.

Mind you, we are now a good 3 miles from the gas station we pulled out of.  So the cop asks for licence, reg, and proof of insu.  Mr. Goose Poop asks why he is getting pulled over. The cop said because we ran a stop sign pulling out of the gas station.  Now I'm shaking in my boots thinking Mr. Goose Poop is going to loose it on this frickin' cop and end up in jail for the night.  I'm digging through paperwork looking for our updated proof of insu, meanwhile Mr. Goose Poop goes on to tell the cop that he was swerving into our lane, and that you can't go 35 miles an hour on a 55 mile an hour road, and slamming on the brakes is going to cause an accident, and yadda yadda yadda.  Cop says he slammed on the brakes because he was looking at a truck next to us with expired tags.  Mr. Goose Poop argues that there was no truck there, and that he was lying.  And if there was a truck, why wasn't he getting pulled over for an illegal vehicle, instead of us who didn't come to a complete stop 3 miles back.

I'm mentally smacking him up upside the head, and coming up empty handed with the updated insurance.

Long story short...we get a ticket for "running" the stop sign, and one for no updated proof of insurance.

Mr.  Goose Poop is steaming mad at this guy, and I'm going oh lord!

We have a couple of cop friends, a few city cops and a state sheriff.  So Mr. Goose Poop talks to one of them this morning, telling her the story, and that he's going to fight the ticket, and what not.  She told him to fight it, but to also file a complaint against this cop.

So Mr. Goose Poop goes to the traffic court this morning, the ticket hasn't been turned in yet, but fills out the paper work to fight it.  Good to go.  Now he wants to file a complaint against the cop.  Well, you gotta go to the police station to do that.

So Mr. Goose Poop drives to the police station, parks and goes in.  On the way in he sees a cop that is a friend of his parent's, so he stops to chat.  Then goes to file a complaint.  Talks with the Sargent, they pull the video from the cop's car last night and go over it.  Blah Blah Blah...

Here's where it gets even better and where I go to fill up my mudslide glass for the 3rd time.

He gets done with the Sargent, and goes outside...TO FIND A $25 PARKING TICKET ON OUR CAR!!!  I thought he was going to loose his marbles right there in front of the cop shop!!!

I mean, what are the chances?!?  Getting pulled over like we did last night, getting a stupid ticket, not being able to find our current insurance and getting a $25 ticket for that.  THEN when you go to fight the ticket and tell the Sargent one of his cops was being an asshole, you get a frickin' parking ticket right outside the damn police station!!  C'mon....

So I say Flip Off to this whole flippin' week!!

Thursday's Three

1. Cherished
2. Annoyed
3. Change

1. Christmas break is now over. It's back to alarm clocks, school uniforms, and making school lunches. I cherished the time off with the kids. We made the most of break with some fun crafts, lots of adventures, and a few lazy days added in. It was a great mix of sleeping in and staying up late.

2. I'm annoyed at Dear Mother Nature. It's January 5th here in good 'ol Michigan, and we only have a dusting of snow. Plus it's supposed to be 41 degrees tomorrow. Winter in Michigan is supposed to be a fun balance of sledding, snow tubing, ice fishing, hot coco, and movies in front of the electric fireplace. Not open windows, kids playing basketball in only sweatshirts, and mowing the stinkin' lawn! I'm ready for the snow...and I think my kids would agree.

3. At first I couldn't think of anything I want to change. Then, butta bing butta boom...two came to me! I'm going to make a change to the Monday-fall-back-idea when I don't have anything to blog about. Instead of Monday Miss-Haps, it's now going to be Monday's Memory. And, I think Mr. Goose Poop may be changing jobs. Long story, but he started plowing for Mrs. Best Friend's dad's company, and they are thinking they want him to come work there full time, year round. We'll see, but it's a change he thinks he wants to make.

Pour your heart out....

It's been a long time since I've hooked up with Shell over at Things I Can't Say for a Pour Your Heart Out Wednesday. But at least for the next couple days I'm on the ball. Be sure to check her out, and stop by some of the ladies (and dudes) linked up under her post today.

OK, so it's a new year. I get it. And with a new year people tend to make all these new year resolutions.
Honestly....I hate "new year resolutions." I don't think I've ever made them, and probably never will.

I have two reasons....1) All they do is make you feel bad. I mean, think about it...most people make a resolution, and come February 1st (28th if you're lucky) you've already broken it. You ate one too many cookies to consider yourself still on a diet...You've already covered the desk with junk mail you swore you'd keep clean...There are 14 piles of laundry in the basement that you promised you'd keep up on...The hallway closet you deep cleaned/organized/killed the spiders in on January 1st is now full of lonely gloves missing a mate, the Christmas wrapping paper you forgot to put away with the rest of the Christmas junk and now are too lazy to dig under the stairs to put it away properly, a new Christmas puzzle the kids got but already lost a piece too that you should just throw away but keep thinking it'll show up never soon, and the vacuum attachments that always fall off the back of the damn vacuum that are pointless putting back on since they'll just fall off as soon as you sneeze again anyway.

And 2) I hate when, in June, people say "My new year's resolution is going to be (fill in the blank here)!!!" Really....it's June dude, if it was that important to you, you'd start/stop now. It's just your excuse to continue smoking for another 6 months, eat bon-bons for another 6 months, or you just plain don't want to clean that stupid hallway closet just yet. So, I know....let's make it be our new year resolution so I don't have to do it for another 6 months! Yea, that's it!

Nope, I don't DO resolutions! If I want to stop smoking I'll do it, I don't care if it's January 1st or July 1st. If I want to loose 20 pounds in March, I'm not going to tell myself that starting next January 1st I'm really really going to try to loose some weight. I'm just going to do it already. In March if I feel so inclined. If I open the pantry door and shit starts falling out at me, I'll clean the friggin' thing out already. Not wait 3 more months, until January 1st, where I'll clean the whole thing out and promise it won't ever get like that until February again.

I boycott January 1st. I'm writing the mayor, or the president, or the damn congress if I have too, until someone will wipe January 1st off the calendar. I mean, February only has 28 days (except for a Leap Year, yes I know but that's not the point here), why can't January start on the 2nd?

Remember I'm linking up with Shell today. Pouring my heart out. Go check out the awesome ladies that follow her. She's only, like, one of the coolest bloggers in the blogging world, which means she's got, like, some of the coolest followers ever.

I'm a horrible blogger lately....

I mean seriously, what the hell is the matter with me? I couldn't even remember my blogger password! For reelz...No joke, I had to look it up in my handy dandy password cheat book. You know, the one where I keep all my 1,443 different passwords?

As I look back over the past year, I wonder how I could have been busier than I was the year before. Didn't seem possible. But judging from my sporatic bogging abilities, time got the best of me. I kept telling myself that I really need to write a new post, it'd been a couple weeks. Weeks? No, try months! I really had no idea it'd been that long. Are you realizing the background to the words you're reading? Yea, it's so totally pumpkins! HELLO....It's January 2nd here, not October 2nd. And to be honest, it'll probably stay that way for awhile. Changing backgrounds, text, colors and such takes time. Probly I'll just wait...you know until spring or something!

Too much has happened for me to write all about it. I'll save those stories for when I have writing block and can't think of anything to write. Trust me, I have lots of them.

I'll leave you with the bookends of the past year....

Ringing in 2011....

Ringing out 2011...

Everyone's a year older, a year wiser, a year bigger. We've been here, we've been there, we've been up, we've been down. We've seen the beginning of life for some, and the end of life for others. We've been pushed, we've been pulled. But we rang in the year with each other, and we're blessed to also ring it out with each other.

As I say good-bye to 2011, I say hello to 2012.

Happy New Year to all!

Who Am I??

(Please excuse the formatting. I can't for the life of me figure out Blogger's formatting! It's a pain in my butt. Especially when you are trying to add photos. It's amost not even worth it!)

I noticed I've gained a few followers over the last few months, so I thought I'd do this fun little ABC game.

A - Aunt. I love being an Aunt. I don't have any "real" siblings, and never thought I would be an aunt. But thanks to Mr. Goose Poop, he has given me the privilege of being an aunt thru his sister's. And of course, my "sister" (Lara) and Best Friend (who by the way is preggo and due in February) have now given me a chance to be an Aunt also.

(cute as a button, niece Vivian)

B - Baking. I love it!

(Al in a days work!)

C - College. I didn't go. Well, I guess I did. I did a two year stint at the local community college, taking various courses, but never got my degree. Kinda wished I did it a little different now. Hind sight is 20/20, right?

D - Diet Pepsi. I'm a fiend for Diet Pepsi. In fact, Mr. Goose Poop always tells people if I ever end up in the hospital all they have to do is put Diet Pepsi in my fluid bag, and I'll be back to healthy in no time.

E - Ex-husband. I was married once before. It's a strange story actually! I went to high school with Mr. Goose Poop. We dated for about 2 years, then broke up. I then started dating ex-husband. We were all "friends" still in high school. Fast forward, I graduate and marry ex-husband, Mr. Goose Poop graduates and marries ex-wife. Mr. Goose Poop and I loose touch, and haven't seen or heard from one another since high school. Fast forward a few years Mr. Goose Poop and ex-wife divorce, fast forward another year ex-husband and I divorce. Mr. Goose Poop and I still have the same circle of friends from high school, but haven't heard from or talked to each other in years. I didn't know he was divorced, and he didn't know I was divorced. I ended up getting back in touch with him and the rest is history!! Awe...cue the sappy love song here!

F - Family. I have the greatest family. I grew up very close with all my grandparents, aunts, uncles, my cousins were like my sisters, we were always together. Each and every one of them mean the world to me. I grew up having my Grandma babysit me and all my cousins, so we were always always together. The whole fam-damn-ly used to go on camping trips in the summer, have parties at each other's houses, I was always staying the night at one of my aunt's houses.

(I wonder how close they will all be when they are all grown up?)

G - God. For God so loved the world He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life. ~John 3:16
It's my favorite Bible verse.

H - Habit. I have this weird habit of cleaning out my ears with a q-tip at least 4 times a day. I go thru a box of q-tips in just a few weeks. Hey, if I'm lyin' I'm dyin'!

I - Ithaca. It's where Mr. Goose Poop is from, and where his dad's whole side of the family lives. I would give my right leg to move there.

J - JuJu Bees. If you know me, you know I don't ever leave my house without a box. Ever. And I don't share either. No, I'm serious, I don't!

K - Kids. I have lots of them!

(They are my world)

L - Lara. (Pronounced "La-duh") You see, I was an only child until I turned 13. No, my parents didn't have a baby, but they did decide to host a foreign exchange student from Yugoslavia for a year. Little did we know, she wouldn't just be a year long foreign exchange student...she became family. She calls my parents "mom" and "dad", my grandma is her grandma, all my aunts, uncles, and cousin's are all hers just the same. She ended up living with us for 3 years, then went to Louisiana State University for 2 years, and then back to Yugoslavia. We still keep in contact with her. And we get to visit with each other when she's on this side of the world!! I named my first born after her, McKenzie Lara. So when you hear me talk of my sister, it's really my foreign exchange student, Lara.

M - Mr. Goose Poop. He's the jelly to my peanut butter. The right to my left. The pea for my pod. The gold to my rainbow. The hip to my hop. I love that man! It's crazy how our lives have worked out. And how we ended up here. Right here where we are. But we did. And here we are!

(My honey & I)

N - Newborn. Even though we have enough kids to make our own Goose Poop Gooslet's basketball team, I do kinda mourn the fact that I'll never have another newborn of my own again. I always wanted a slew of kids. And I have two close friends that are pregnant, and my sister (Morgan, not Lara!!) is pregnant again too. And though I don't envy seeing them pregnant (I H.A.T.E.D every second of being pregnant! Makes me wonder how I did it 4 times!!), I do envy the cute, little, squishy newborn they will have. I want a million newborns! I want to be back in the hospital giving birth again (Crazy, right? I know, but I loved the actual giving birth part!), I want to change cute little butts, and wake up for the middle of the night feedings, I want baby barf stained shoulders (I told you I was crazy!), and cute little clothes. I miss having a newborn something fierce.

O - Obsessed. I'm obsessed with Pinterest. It's seriously the coolest website e.v.e.r. I've gotten so many great ideas from there. You've got to check it out. You do have to have an invite, or request one from the main page. And since it's so popular, it may take a couple days, but I'm telling you it's sooo very worth it! And if you do join, make sure to follow me here.

P - Photography. Mr. Goose Poop's dad owns a photography studio. In Ithaca. I've always wanted to be a photographer, I'm talking ever since I could remember. So I'm slowly starting to get into it more. I go to school photo shoots with him alot. But the problem is Ithaca is an hour and a half from where I live. So his school shoots are over on his side of the state, which means I have to drive all over hell and gone to get to them. It sucks. So I decided to start doing some shoots here on my own. For my birthday Mr. Goose Poop bought me one of the studio's dSLR cameras, and I went and bought new tri-pods, lights with umbrellas, and a new back drop system with 4 different backdrops. I've done a senior shoot, and a maternity shoot. And of course, millions of my kids! I've got another maternity shoot coming up (ahem...Best Friend's!! Yay) and a great friend of mine is due to have her baby any second now, so I will be taking some newborn pictures in the next little while. I love every second of it!!

(A few of my cousin's Senior Pictures)

(A couple of my favorite shots from my maternity shoot)

Q - Quiet time. I don't get alot of it! I miss it. I crave it. I rejoice when I get it!!

R - Rachel. It's my name...don't wear it out! My mom named me after a character in one of her childhood coloring books. Fancy, huh? Don't shed a tear on the sentimental meaning of my name now! On a side note...if I were to have been a boy my name would have been Jared Micheal.

S - Sappy. I'm such a sap. I'm one of those people who cry over spilled milk. And commercials about lost kittens.

T - Tracy. Also known here as Best Friend. We've been friends since right before we turned 13. That's...well, that's a long damn time friends! It's 18 years this summer. I love her more than...well, anything really. I know I'm blessed to have her in my life.

(18 of the best years of my life)

U - Underestimate. Don't underestimate how many things I can juggle at one time. I'm full time mom to 6 (the 7th isn't with us any more, long story for another day). I now work 2 days a week. I get 5 kids to football twice a week, in 2 different places. And one to basketball practice twice a week, and a game once a week. I do kids' football games on Saturday's, and basketball tournaments on the weekends. I am a Girl Scout leader. And have one kid in Cadets. I'm overly active in our school's PTL (I think most of you call it the PTA though). I just applied to be on our School Board. I also just became a voting member of our church. I'm at school at the very least 5 hours a week volunteering for the teachers. I'm currently in the middle of planning and putting on a baby shower for 46 people for Best Friend, all by myself. I babysit my niece and nephew one day a week. I work for the photography studio anywhere from 3 to 7 days a month. And now have weekends booked for personal photo shoots. I usually cook a home cooked dinner every night, and my house is always at least "company ready." (In fact when I was looking for an "O" word, I thought about the word obsessed. But I didn't think I was really obsessed with anything (besides Diet Pepsi, of course), so I asked Mr. Goose Poop what I was obsessed about...he said "cleaning the house!" I actually laughed out loud to that one.) I study spelling words and bible verse memory work with my kids every night. Then go and pack 6 lunches every night. Oh yea, and my shit smells like roses, too! *toot*toot* of my own horn here!

V - Vacation. A vacation sounds heavenly right now. Mr. Goose Poop and I have never been on vacation together. I mean, yea, we've been to the next town over for the weekend a time or two. But I'm talking, like, a real vacation. A "planned out, lets get on a plane, a train, or in an automobile and go on vacation" vacation. I might just give up my left leg too, to go on vacation. Yes, I realize I will have no lower extremities if I end up living in Ithaca and going on vacation with Mr. Goose Poop. It'd be worth it though.

W - Want. I want a bigger house more than I've ever wanted anything in my whole life!

X - X-ray. I've only ever had one x-ray. I was 8, it was Easter Sunday and we were all at my Grandparent's house for Easter Dinner. Afterward, a bunch of us kids, along with our parents went up the street to my elementary school to play on the playground. My playground had 2 sets of monkey bars right next to each other. During recess all my friends would swing from one set to the other. I knew I couldn't do it, and was too embarrassed to try when everyone was watching me at school. So my Aunt Kathie told me she'd teach me. She stood underneath me and told me to swing across. I dangled there for about an hour3 minutes trying to gain courage, all the while she stood below me "Just do it, I'll catch you if you fall!" "I know you can do it, don't be scared, I'm right here!" "You won't get hurt, I'm only a foot from you!" So, as my arms started to get numb, I realized I was going to have to do something here. Shit or get off the pot sort of thing going on!! So I decided to shit, so to speak. And wouldn't you know it....Aunt Kathie didn't catch me! I landed with a *thud* on the wood chips of the playground. Grams made me a homemade sling out of old material scraps and a coloring book, a few hours in the ER with good 'ol mom and dad, an x-ray here and there, questioned to see if my parents were beating me, and I left with a cast! and that's how my Aunt Kathie broke my arm. On Easter.

Y - Yearbook. I have every one of my childhood yearbooks from 1st grade all the way thru 12th grade.

Z - Zoom Lens. I'm in the market for a zoom lens for my new camera. I went to the camera shop to check some out, and about hit the floor when I saw the price tag...$899!! Pshya...

Happy Bow Hunting Eve

Mr. Goose Poop's never been a big hunter. That I know of anyway. And I've known him for 15 years, well 16 actually.

At any rate, he's never been a big hunter. Which doesn't break my heart any. I'm not a big venison fan. Everyone always tells me "oh you've got to try my dad's/brother's/husband's/great-uncle gilber's venison, you can't tell it's venison." Oh yes you can. Everyone says "you can't tell." Well, I beg to differ. You can totally tell.

I went off track...as I was saying...Mr. Goose Poop's not a big hunter. Last year he went during gun season. He shot his first deer. And he decided he liked it.

So for his birthday this year the birthday fairy got him the bow he's been wanting.

And now here we are, an hour and 10 minutes until bow season starts, and I'm sitting in my living room all by myself. No kids. No husband. It's all quiet. And lonely. And

I FIRGGIN' LOVE IT!!!

I can get used to this! I've got the remote to myself. I'm so watching Keeping up with the Kardashian's! I'm sprawled out on the couch. My cat is sitting on half of my laptop. The house is clean. I'm dreaming of throwing out my leg in bed tonight, without the usual accompanied "Uumpf!"

Tomorrow morning I'm going to Jacob's football game. At my own pace. I have a maternity shoot tomorrow afternoon. And the possibility of doing it up best friend style after that (cuz, you know...Mr. Best Friend is hunting too!). Sunday is filled with crap around the house. At my own pace.

The only bad thing?

I have to make my own coffee tonight for the morning. You see, that's Mr. Goose Poop's job. Every night he makes my coffee and sets the timer so I have coffee ready when I wake up.

But I'm thinking making my own coffee is a fair trade for a weekend all to my glorious self.

Yup, I can get used to this hunting crap. Hell, I'll even learn to like the damn venison if I have to.

Just as long as it's limited to 3 or less weekends per hunting season. Three is fair enough. A girl can only make her coffee so many times....

Holy crap-o-la folks!

I know it's been awhile since you've last seen me, but I certainly didn't know it was this bad.

I couldn't even remember my password to get into my blog. For reelz. I totally had to go look it up in my handy dandy password book. Bad.

I don't even know how to explain the last few months around here. I can't believe how busy we've been.

Let me give you my schedule...
(I started to type out my schedule by time, but my fingers started to get tired, and I had taken up about 59 lines and I was only at Tuesday at 7:00pm!)

So, lets just say Monday and Tuesday I leave the house at 7:30 and don't get home until 7:30. And Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday I leave the house around 2:30 and get home around 7:30. Between football practice for 4 boys (plus the one extra kid I bring home on football days), basketball for McKenzie, Cadets for Jacob, Girl Scouts for McKenzie (where, yes, I co-lead again this year), we get home around 7:30.

I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and throw work in the mix. Yes, real work. As in, go sit in my office in front of a computer all day for a paycheck, work.

Whaaaaaaat?

It's only Monday and Tuesday for now, but I've already told them Monday's just aren't going to work for me anymore. Way to start a job, huh?

Since I haven't posted since, what sometime in June I think, you don't know that Mr. Goose Poop got me a dSLR camera for my birthday. It's just a technical name for a really really awesomely sweet professional camera. I'm so very excited. So, that's been keeping me busy. I've already done a senior photo shoot, and have two maternity shoots coming up. Plus, I'm also working for Mr. Goose Poop's dad's photo studio. I've been doing some school pictures for them. I just ordered new studio lights, umbrellas, and light tripods. I also got new backdrops, but I don't like the way they turned out, so I'm going to pick up something new Friday.

I can go on and on forever into eternity, but, alas, dinner is screaming at my from the stove, and we have company coming tonight.

I wanted to pop in and just say that in between all this chaos, I'm going to make sure I throw the blog back into the mix.

Hope all is well with my readers. Actually, I just hope I still have readers is more like it!!

You've reached Mrs. Goose Poop

I am unable to make it to my computer right now, but if you leave me a comment message after the beep, I will get back here just as soon as I can. Thanks and have a nice day!

Pour Your Heart Out

Another link up with Shell at Things I Can't Say for a Pour Your Heart Out Wednesday. Like always, show some love and visit the others that are linked up under her post today. You can never have too many followers!

Who decides what makes a "good" parent? You? Your parents? Your parent's parents? The experts? The doctors? Who decides if you're a good momma or not?

I often wonder this. This isn't a post to "toot my own horn," but very often I have people tell me that I'm such a good momma. That because stay up until midnight making fun, homemade snackies for school snacks, I'm such a good momma. That because I sew my kids fun jammie pants for holiday's, I'm such a good momma. That because I have the kids choose a dinner one night a week and then let them help me make it, I'm such a good momma. That because my house looks like a pre-school room, I'm such a good momma.

These comments are usually followed by something along the lines of, "I couldn't imagine doing that," or "I don't know how you do it," or "I could never do all that."

The people that say these things...do they think I'm any better than they are because I do do these types of things? Do they think they are bad momma's because they choose to go to bed at 10:00 instead of sewing or baking until midnight?

I had a conversation with Mrs. Best Friend the other day. She called. It was around 10:00pm, and I was in the kitchen. Baking. 2 cakes for a class party McKenzie was having the next day. And I had just put the first one in the oven. I still had to bake a whole nother one, frost and decorate both. In other words, a few more hours of cake baking left.

She says to me, "What the hell? Why don't you just go buy a couple cakes from Meijer?"

I told her I enjoy doing it. I like to do this kind of stuff. It's my thang, my knack. She went on to say something along the lines of, "No way. It's 10:00 at night. I'd never do that. I'd run my happy ass to Meijer, fork over the $20 for a couple cakes, and call it a night! You're such a good momma."

Does she think that because she chose to have Meijer bake her cakes, that she won't be as good of a momma as I am? I sure hope not. I'm no better than she is. Because she chooses to use her extra time for a hot shower every day, and I don't...will that make her a better momma than me? Because I shower every other day instead? No, it doesn't.

You can't compare yourself to other mom's. There are some basic things that qualify you as a good mom...like teaching your kids right from wrong, teaching them manners, helping them learn to read, providing them food, clothing, and shelter. Pretty much if you do that, then I figure you're a good mom. All the extra stuff is just that. Extra.

Every one's extra is different. Mine happens to be baking/cooking with my kids and sewing. Yours may happen to be an extra shower every day and teaching your child sign language. Or taking a bike ride together every day and playing basketball.

What ever your thang is, don't ever let another momma make you feel like you're less of a momma to your kids. As long as the basics are met, you're a great momma. No one's better than you, and you're not better than any one else.
